Artist Talk

Melissa Campbell

Archive Events & Talks (17 November 2016, 6.30pm - 8.00pm)
Melissa Campbell (b.1973) works with archives to explore the connections between us, the traces we leave, and the journeys we take. Playing detective, she uses photographs and texts as a starting point to investigate both the stories they may contain, and the function of the object itself; in terms of identity, evidence and truth.
Campbell works across printmaking and photography, making lens-based work, books and films.

Her work has been shortlisted for Bloomberg New Contemporaries and Athens Photography Festival, nominated for the Magnum/PhotoLondon Graduate Photography Award, and selected by Dewi Lewis for Source Magazine's Graduate Photographic Review. www.melissacampbellfineart.com For her presentation at Fabrica, Melissa will discuss her work and inspiration in more detail.
