Cittadellarte-Fondazione Pistoletto was founded in 1998 with the aim to inspire and produce a responsible change in society through ideas and creative projects. Based in Biella, Italy, out of a 19th Century former wool mill, itself a piece of industrial archeology that is protected by the Ministry of Cultural Assets, Cittadellarte functions as a non-profit organisation of social utility. It’s programme fosters a supportive global network of small-scale artistic and cultural practices for social change and democratic innovation, whilst it’s international residency programme has supported over 250 artists, curators, scholars, social entrepreneurs and thinkers since 1999.
Currently we are working in partnership with Cittadellarte on Understanding Territoriality, through which they have hosted ‘Creating Territorialities’, a research-oriented residency program that aims to investigate notions and forms of “territoriality”.
