Maison de la Culture, Amiens
The Maisons de la Culture were initiated in France in the early 60’s with the intent of decentralizing the provision of ‘high’ culture and making the regional provision of culture to a wide audience more achievable. Today Amiens is one of the few organisations that retains the title Maison de la Culture.
The Maison de la Culture, Amiens (MCA) offers “a program for all ages, focusing on diversity and need, and placing the creation and production at the heart of our project”. The programme is multidiscipinary offering theatre, music, circus, cinema, dance and contemporary art.
The MCA also programmes the Art, Cities, Landscape Festival on the floating islands of Les Hortillonages, inviting young artists to make work in this unique environment.
The MCA were one of the partners in the project Out of the Blue-Woad
