Since launching in 2024, basics has become known across Brighton for blending live music and poetry, earning repeated nods as a Folklore Rooms “staff pick” and glowing praise from Rapture Magazine, Brighton Source, and WeLoveBrighton. After five consecutive sold-out shows in intimate settings, they’re expanding their ambition — and starting with this collaboration with a local grassroots arts organisation.

Headliner: Kymara + 12-piece ensemble

Brighton’s own rising star leads a grand, genre-spanning performance: soulful harmonies, jazz-inflected songs, striking solo passages. The band has supported Rag’n’Bone Man, held a four-show residency at Casablanca’s, sold out Brighton Dome Studios, and appeared at major festivals such as North Sea Jazz, Lakefest, and The Great Escape. Expect a performance crafted for Fabrica’s soaring acoustics.

A soul-rich band fronted by a powerhouse vocalist, with emotional songwriting and bluesy guitar lines. Hailing from South Africa and France, they’ve toured Europe independently, backed acts like James Morrison, Suga Babes and Hugh Masekela, and performed at Glastonbury, Underneath the Stars, Wilderness, and beyond.
