But I'm a Cheerleader

Film at Fabrica (25 September 2025, 6.00pm - 9.00pm)
This September our Young Film Programmers, Fresh Perspectives, have chosen a cult classic to be featured as part of Scalarama Film Festival.

But I’m a Cheerleader / 1999 / 1hr 30mins / Rated 15

This whimsically edgy comedy follows High school senior Megan, an all-American girl who loves cheerleading and dates a football player. Her suburban existence is turned upside-down when her family suspect she’s a lesbian. In a panic they send her to a ‘rehabilitation’ camp where she comes to question her own sexuality for the first time.

Will Megan be turned around to successful heterosexuality, or will she succumb to her feelings for one of her new classmates?

Film is rated 15. For more guidance please check the BBFC website.
