About the Craft
Marquetry is an ancient technique used to decorate furniture and objects, with origins dating back to Ancient Egypt and widespread popularity in 18th-century Europe. Today, marquetry is being revived with fresh, modern approaches – combining traditional hand tools with vibrant dyed woods and new design ideas.
