Following the success of the first Duality workshop, we’re back with another evening of abstract and figurative drawing to live music. In this session, VCSB will perform an ambient and mostly mellow set using instruments like the synth and electric guitar, alongside vocals. The band VCSB are joining Duality for the first time.

You’ll draw the (clothed) musicians while they play, as well as draw abstractly to the sounds. The untutored session unfolds across 4 sections, progressing from 2-minute songs to 30 minutes of improvisation. Optional prompts guide each drawing, such as drawing to the rhythm and drawing the band without looking at your paper. The music from band members Saul Bazley, Tris Claude Houseman and Ronan Goron are structured alongside these prompts to ease you into the process.

Fabrica’s historic building offers a stunning backdrop and acoustics that enhance the experience of drawing to live music, and towards the end, you will be invited to place your favourite drawing in a shared floor space, so that we can enjoy the variety of drawings together.

No life drawing experience is needed, and the workshop is open to all artistic abilities.

A range of drawing materials, including charcoal, ink, graphite sticks and pencils, will be provided along with a set of sheets of paper. We ask for a small cash donation if you would like to use additional paper.

A selection of alcoholic and soft drinks - and snacks will be available at the bar throughout the evening.
