A directorial debut, For Sama is both an intimate and epic journey into the female experience of war. Dedicated as a love letter from a young mother to her daughter, the film provides a moving documentation of horror and hope through a first-hand account of the Syrian civil war.
The film presents a female Syrian activist living in Syria which provides a complementary perspective to Hafez’s position away from home.
