GBTQ+ Men Who Create

Sculpture

Workshops (23 October 2025, 3.00pm - 5.00pm)
GBTQ+ Men Who Create is a programme of free, creative courses for people who identify as GBTQ+, non binary/transmasc who are experiencing low mental health.

Men Who Create invites you to explore forms of sculpture and three-dimensional work. We will use clay, plaster, paper and other materials to form sculptures, and incorporating participants interests in our subject matter as we go. No experience necessary, just a willingness to have a go.


Enjoy learning new skills with a little experimentation, using tactile materials such as clay, plaster, paper and paints.


If you would like to join, we will be a small group trying out techniques together, the atmosphere will be friendly and welcoming.


All materials, tea and coffee will be provided free.


The course is aimed at people who identify as GBTQ+, non binary/transmasc who are experiencing low mental health. GBTQ+ Men Who Create is supported by a facilitator from the LGBTQ+ community.

About Helen Goodwin


Helen Goodwin is an internationally exhibited artist with experience in studio and large-scale sculpture work and site-specific instillations. She has many years' experience teaching various arts practice and sculpture mediums and facilitating exploratory workshops in Fabrica Gallery.


About support facilitator Anthony Stevens:


Anthony is the Arts Project Coordinator and a trained Peer Support Specialist at Recovery Partners’ a Sussex based, user-led mental health charity.


Anthony has a keen interest in the role that peoples’ innate creativity has to play in their wellbeing and recovery, and using his own creativity is an integral part of the management of his own mental health challenges.


When not working in peer supported arts, Anthony is an internationally exhibited Textile Artist. He is also part of the exhibitions committee of a large national arts charity.

GBTQ Men Sculpture
Sessions are free to participants with a suggested cost of £18/£36 per course if you feel able to contribute.
