From July – August 2025, Men Who Create invites you to explore a range of drawing techniques on this relaxing and fun short course. No experience necessary, just a willingness to have a go. This is a small, informal and relaxed drawing session focussed on finding your way with drawing. We welcome beginner and experienced drawers alike.
You will be invited to experiment with different materials for each of the six weeks, from graphite and ink to magic pencils; drawing from various subjects such as life models and a ‘drawing on the move’ museum visit amongst them.
We invite you to come and enjoy drawing through exploration in Fabrica Gallery’s serene and beautiful space.
All materials, gallery entrances and Tea and coffee will be provided free.
The course is aimed at people who identify as GBTQ+, non binary/transmasc who are experiencing low mental health. GBTQ+ Men Who Create is supported by a facilitator from the LGBTQ+ community.

About Jane Fordham
Jane Fordham is an artist with experience in studio painting, drawing and animation, and large scale public art work. She has many years experience teaching experimental life drawing and facilitating exploratory workshops in Fabrica Gallery.
About support facilitator Anthony Stevens:
Anthony is the Arts Project Coordinator and a trained Peer Support Specialist at Recovery Partners’ a Sussex based, user-led mental health charity.
Anthony has a keen interest in the role that peoples’ innate creativity has to play in their wellbeing and recovery, and using his own creativity is an integral part of the management of his own mental health challenges.
When not working in peer supported arts, Anthony is an internationally exhibited Textile Artist. He is also part of the exhibitions committee of a large national arts charity.
