From felt tip pen and Dulux paint to the rare, beautiful and breathtakingly expensive lapis lazuli, throughout the day Stig will be painting a wall of blue monochromes, comprising swatches of pigments, dyes and inks, and which will be displayed in the gallery afterwards. Stig will be comparing the historic with the new, artists’ paints with household, and discussing the provenance, nomenclature, and properties of the materials to hand.
