Screen Shot Film Programmers Get Together

Events & Talks (4 November 2025, 6.30pm - 9.00pm)
Whether you're a film lover dreaming of running your own screening or a seasoned programmer looking to reconnect, this event is your gateway to inspiration and community - an introduction and networking hub for both newcomers and established film programmers.

Come and join a range of independent film programmers, film clubs, festivals and community groups from Screen Shot and beyond for a sociable networking event that is open to anyone interested in film programming. This event is part of the Screen Shot networking programme.

In November, along with hearing from our special guest speaker, there will be space to discuss topics suggested from the previous session.

Event schedule:

  • 6.30pm Doors Open - get your voucher and enjoy 50% off your first drink
  • 7pm Fabrica and Screen Shot welcome
  • 7.20pm Guest Speaker slot: Jayne Wilson from Short Circuit will talk to us about how she got started, working with venues across the city and creating a curated programme from international submissions. • Time for questions after the talk and during networking.
  • 7.45pm time for informal networking plus themed tables for discussion/connection on popular areas of interest

This is the second of three Film Programmer Get Togethers events we have planned in July and November 2025 and February 2026. Each event includes a special guest speaker who will give an introduction to their work and some of their top tips for programming, as well as a viewing of a selection of shorts during the evening.

Screen Shot is a website and monthly newsletter designed to promote and support alternative film events in Sussex. We work with independent programmers, film clubs, festivals and community groups to help special events, pop-up screenings and live cinema events reach a wider audience. It was formed in 2019 by CINECITY, The Old Market, Oska Bright Film Festival, Open Colour, Fabrica , Attenborough Centre for the Contemporary Arts and Women Over 50 Film Festival and is now managed by Fabrica.
