Artist Talk & Photography Networking Event

With In Between Gallery exhibitor, Mikael Buck

Events & Talks (5 February 2026, 6.00pm - 9.00pm)
Are you a photographer who would like to meet other like-minded professionals in the city? Join us for our annual Photography Networking event - a night of conversation and music in partnership with Photo Fringe, Spectrum Photographic Jane & Jeremy photobook publishers and POST, the city’s newest creative hub dedicated to photographic and lens-based artists.

At this event we aim to create a space where photographers and creatives at any stage in their career can connect with industry professionals and peers, as well as discover new work in a relaxed atmosphere.

For this year’s talk and Q&A we're delighted to be profiling Mikael Buck, the winner of the 2025 In Between Gallery open call. His image, Sorry About That, is currently exhibited in Fabrica's main window.

Mikael (b. 1982) is a British visual artist based in Epping Forest, Essex. In a career spanning more than 20 years, Mikael's work as a photojournalist and commercial photographer has featured in hundreds of publications globally. Alongside this, Mikael has also been developing a body of personally driven work: an archive of book dummies, text, illustration, collage, digital manipulations and photography that draws upon his family’s history and a childhood spent moving frequently between Essex and Marbella, Spain. Through this work, Mikael seeks to recreate the dark humour that was the backdrop to his chaotic, fun, intense family life.

At this event you can expect:

  • A creative sharing of Mikael Buck’s work and practice - followed by a Q&A

  • Hear from Nina Emmett and Simon Roberts, the founders of POST. Nina and Simon will briefly outline their start-up journey and plans for the future.

  • Space to network & connect with other photographers and creatives

  • Photobook browsing & buying

  • A fully stocked bar

  • Live DJ mix
