Doors & Bar open 6pm for 6.30pm start. There will be an interval halfway through the screenings.

The 2IC

A hopeful candidate goes through an excruciatingly absurd job interview led by a rogue businessman. Starring and co-written by Taskmaster favourite and Brighton second-homer Sam Campbell.



3 Sisters
DIR: THEO GOODYER. 23 MINS.


Three sisters meet for the first time at their dad's funeral.
They realise their departed dad left them each a piece of a treasure map.
They must go on a road trip in rural Japan to find the treasure together.

Twenty-five-year-old bartender Chick's hope for an easy end to her shift shatters when a customer signals for help getting away from her date, the devilishly charming Jonathan. Chick does her best to help the young woman escape, but Jonathan’s focus quickly shifts to the feisty bartender, who now has to worry for her own safety.



Dear Someone or Other

Freak in the Sheets

A new couple, fresh out of their honeymoon phase, discovers they have bed bugs. But this isn’t your average household infestation and the insects seem to have an unhealthy appetite for gaslighting, narcissism and toxic behaviour. As the relationship begins to unravel, something much more sinister has taken a bite.



My Alien Cowboy

Meet Mary-Sue and her alien boyfriend, who have the most unusual, out of this world meet-cute story.



One Night Only
DIR: JOSH HARRIS. 18 MINS.


A pub singer’s celebrity delusions get in the way of her relationship with her daughter, who is left to pick up the pieces when faced by the cruel reality of her mother’s lifestyle.



Shortage
DIR: ISABELLE FAUCHET KAWAMURA. 9 MINS.


In this psychological thriller, Hallie, a 52-year-old mother is struggling to communicate with her teenage daughter. With her husband absent and her H.R.T. medicine running out, she finds herself alone in their isolated house and eventually comes face-to-face with her demons.



Sous Le Courant
DIR: JACOB MELLING. 16 MINS.


A weekend away in Brighton poses the perfect escape for two friends, but as they attempt to flee their circumstances, the trauma they are hiding from one another surfaces. Sous Le Courant is a short inspired by French New Wave and touches on friendship, existentialism, escapism and feeling lost.



WIRED
DIR: WILL JEWELL. 18 MINS.


When Becca loses her job and partner, she retreats into her apartment to recuperate, pouring out her heart to her only companion MAIA, her wellbeing Smart Hub.


But as she turns her life around and prepares to re-join society, it seems MAIA has a different prognosis for her wellbeing.
