“I had read Kensuke’s Kingdom to my boys when they were little and they were enthralled by it. Michael Morpurgo manages to connect so beautifully with a child's sense of wonder and adventure. I very much wanted to be involved in the film version so that they could see it….” Cillian Murphy

“It’s a story of family, hope, survival and resilience. And the importance, the power of friendship. The ties of love that hold us together. The human spirit. And the power of nature as well as it’s fragility. It’s utterly beautiful.”
