The In Between Gallery is a temporary gallery in the Fabrica window showing contemporary photography between Fabrica's main exhibition programme. We show work from two artists a year including an Open Call between December and April.
Showing until 16 July 2021 in Fabrica's picture window on Duke Street is Ibrahim Azab's FOPDTMM_#02, 2018.
Ibrahim Azab is a multi-disciplinary artist and curator based in London. Azab’s practice shifts between Sculpture, Performance and Photography whilst engaging in Ideas of re-construction and memory. His work explores the photograph as object, through digital and physical intervention, with a focus towards the movement and exchange of visual language and the abstract in consumer culture.
Taken from a larger series of work titled FOPDTMM (2018-2020) , Ibrahim Azab constructs digital collages from magazine cut outs and his personal imagery, highlighting the process of reproducing memory and material in the everyday.
About The Artist
London based Artist and Curator Ibrahim Azab shifts between Sculpture, Performance and Photography. Ideas of Process, perception, and information form the centre point of Azab’s practice whilst surrounding research of his work investigates the relationship between the subconscious and reality, material and immaterial within a hyper-consumer and visual culture. His work explores the photograph as object, through digital and physical intervention, with a focus towards the movement and transfer of visual language as abstract information. Significantly the work of Ibrahim Azab is concerned with failure and representation within the photographic medium, playfully surfacing the act of seeing and unseeing through phenomenological understanding of the surface.
