Artists Talk + Q&A

Making Space: Origination

Events & Talks (3 October 2024, 6.00pm - 8.00pm)
Join us to explore the world of Origination, an ongoing project by artists and sisters Katy Beinart and Rebecca Beinart. What began as a personal investigation into their family history and migrations has blossomed into a profound exploration of the materiality, memory, and rituals associated with migration and diaspora.

During this event, Katy and Rebecca will guide you through their artworks, sharing insights into the diverse mediums they have used—from performance and sculpture to film and beyond. Each piece serves as a touchstone for understanding the lost and invisible heritages that shape our present.

Following the tour, there will be the opportunity to discuss the works with the artists, and join in a broader discussion about the connections between art, migration, and identity.

This event is part of Katy and Rebecca's Making Space Artist Residency at Fabrica, which is taking place from 30 September to 4 October. For more details about the residency, please click here.
