Fluid Whispers: Artist Performance + Q&A

Beiyi Wang

Events & Talks (24 July 2025, 8.30pm - 9.30pm)
Fabrica’s Making Space artist residency for July 2025 has been awarded to Beiyi Wang, who will be developing their current project, In the Flowing Water.

At dusk, on 24 July 2025, Beiyi is inviting a small audience into the space, to see the work-in-progress performance and installation that Beiyi will be developing with supporting artists Matt Lewis, Tong Niu, Luke Pendrell, Teng Wang, Hexuan Yu, Jaiden Xiu and Tingqi Liu. This will be followed by A short discussion about its themes and Q&A session with the artists.

Exploring the question “Can bathing can be a metaphor for emotional and creative release?” Beiyi will be shaping the sound, movement and visual elements in line with their research, as a step toward a new installation and performance piece. This event will be the first time the work is presented, and provides the audience with a unique opportunity to feedback into Beiyi’s future development of the work.

About The Artist

Beiyi Wang is a London-based interdisciplinary artist whose practice centers on healing arts, installation, performance, and socially engaged work. Emerging from embodied observation and ritual interactions with natural phenomena, Beiyi’s projects foster sensory awareness and collective consciousness. Their work explores the intersection of sound, somatic practices, and acoustic environments to create spaces of attentive stillness, where simple, intentional actions reveal profound encounters with presence and temporality.

Artist Residencies

The Making Space Artist Residency at Fabrica offers artists four days in the gallery to develop, test, or present new work to a focused audience. Beyond the space itself, the residency includes curatorial, audience development, and marketing support, with planning and dialogue often beginning months in advance. These ongoing conversations with Fabrica’s team help shape the artist’s presentation, audience engagement, and the overall experience of the work in the gallery context.
